To gather audience information I went around the college and asked a couple of people some questions relating to our artist and song choice. We were given some brief and general survey questions to ask people. All members of our group went out and asked different people so that we can gather up the information and compare. I asked a fellow student from my college, Isabella, who is a fan of AlunaGeorge's music and unique style. Her answers to the questions were as followed:
Age; 17
Gender; Female
Ethnicity; White, British
Describe what you may do for a living; Aspires to become an actor
Where they buy their groceries; Tesco
Describe what you do in your spare time; Shops and sings
What newspaper they read; The Guardian
What magazine(s) they read; Cosmopolitan
What form of transport they most often use; Tube (Underground)
What gadgets they use; Phone, laptop
A brand they are attracted to; Doc Martins
Where they most often buy their clothes from; American Apparel
Their favourite drink; Strawberry Ribena
Where they may like to go on holiday; USA
Why she likes AlunaGeorge; Likes the unique tone of her voice and the funky sound they produce.
From this information I gathered that Isabella is quite a creative person due to her aspirations of being an actor and one of her hobbies being singing. She also seems like a very modern teenager who's up to date with a lot of things, as she reads Cosmopolitan, uses the Tube and frequently uses her phone and laptop. I also got the feel that she's quite a trendy kind of teenager as she shops at American Apparel and likes the brand Dr Martins. Finally, I got the idea that she is definitely a keen listener of AlunaGeorge as she gives a detailed reason as to why she likes them. In order to know that she has a unique tone to her voice, someone would have to be a fan of her work and listen to her a lot. Isabella is a good example of our core audience due to all these reasons.
