When looking at the photos I found that some were more suited for the digi-packs and adverts than others. The ones that were more casual however still deserved some attention; so here are some edits i did of some of the photos taken…

Production - Did Somebody Say Photo Shoot?
Here are some of the photo's we took for the ancillary work we're going to do!
(Photography by Andreia, Model Romy, Lighting Khadeeja, and Luke :P )
Production - How's the editing going?
Editing so far has gone really well and we've managed to complete most of it in the space of two lessons. We've got a lot of good shots from which we can use and experiment with. Here's some screen shots to give you some idea of what we've been getting up to and how it's going...
Here's a screenshot of when we initially started our editing, as you can see we were halfway through the the first scene.
This is a screenshot showing all our clips sorted into folders according to the scenes.
Here's a screenshot of us including motion in our video.
This is another screenshot of an example of the motion used in our video, which is a bit further into the video.
Here's a screenshot paused on a part of the jump cuts used in our video. It was quite hard to capture the fact that it is a jump cut. (right screen)
Here's another screenshot, again much like the jump cut screenshot it was hard to capture the fact that we enlarged the screen to the beat in our video which I think looked really good. (right screen)
On the right screen is an example where we used the cross dissolve effect to switch from the Hyde Park scene to the Mile End scene due to Romy hitting the camera.
This is a screenshot of the last bit of the video where we again use the dissolve effect to switch from my sad face (Luke) to Romy's happy face because she's finally got the better of me.

English Weather... Sigh
So basically the weather sort of ruined our original plan to go out filming in half term, but luckily we planned ahead so that we allowed ourselves some time just in case something like this happened... phew.
Originally our plan was to film on the monday and tuesday of half term and then we'd be finished, but with some weather and equipment complications, we had to change the dates, so we ended up filming on the Tuesday that we got back from college. We managed to get quite a lot done, going to Mile End to do the alleyway scene, and to Hyde Park to do the picnic scene, the weather wasn't as good as we wanted it to be, but was definitely do-able, although it was absolutely freezing cold. Honestly this kind of made us complete the filming quicker as everyone was dying of coldness.
Ah well, one more day of filming to go and we are finished!

That's what friends are for...
During the half term because i am such a nice human being i decided to help out group 11 with their filming.
They needed a girlfriend figure so i stepped in and helped out.

The Plan For This Week/end!
Here I am (with my big mouth) talking about what we plan to do this weekend in order to complete our filming! Please also enjoy the accompanying images (smiley face)
The Practice
The Shoot
The Weather
Because I'm Such A Good Sport...
Since my group was having trouble with finding time for filming earlier in the week, on Monday I decided to put my three hour college gap to use and help out a fellow media group! Group 19 looked like they could use a hand and so I became a rodie and honorary group member for two hours. I had so much fun and watched how another group operated which was both intriguing and disturbing… anyway without further ado here's a link to the blog post i'm on!

Filming Issues... But We Have A Solution!
During the half term we decided as a group that it would be a very good idea to film during the half term holidays. So we booked a day to film on (originally Tuesday) and we got all the equipment out from college, ready to return it all on the Wednesday after filming. Unfortunately there was a mix up with the dates so instead of being able to film on the Tuesday and hand the equipment back into college on the Wednesday after, we had to give back all the equipment on the Tuesday morning that we were planning to film on. We had also planned to film on the the first day of half term (Monday) but there were a
lot of weather warnings about storms in London and considering we wanted to film outside, the weather forecast wasn't in our favor.
Once we had realized that the equipment had to be back in for Tuesday morning at 10 am we decided to film the day after (Wednesday) however i couldn't film because i already had plans that i couldn't get out of.
We have already filmed the first part of the music video and i have absolutely no doubt that we will have finished all the filming before the deadline.
We plan to film next Tuesday (the 5th November) and get a few if not all of the scenes done needed to complete our music video :)

Production - Dance rehearsal
Today Khadeeja and I met up with Eugenie as she is going to dance in our music video. We are having other dancers who are in fact in the college from the dance department. Eugenie was the only one that was available to meet up with us to do a dance rehearsal. I was behind the camera because we had to have evidence.
Eugenie learnt the dance moves quick, obviously at the beginning as it was her first try out she was getting to know the dance moves but at the end she got it and loved it and we all had fun!

First day of filming...
After pitching our ideas on Friday morning, we thought we'd go straight out and film! The first day of filming was at my house as we were filming the living room scene, every member of the group was participating in what we thought would make a good first scene in our music video and after some agreements and disagreements we managed to come out with some great clips in a relatively short amount of time, which I thought was pretty impressive. We didn't have any problems with the setting or costume etc. which allowed the filming to flow well.
I look forward to filming again!

Pitch- How did it go?
On Friday me and my group were asked to pitch our ideas to our teacher and the class. For this pitch we had to outline what we were doing, how we were going to do it and also when we are doing it. Our group was the first one to pitch our ideas, followed by some really good pitch's from the other groups. I thought overall the pitch went really well for several different reasons. And here's why...
I think my group and I were really organised a fair time before the pitch and each person knew what they were doing, and went through each designated part in great detail. At first I felt a bit nervous talking in front of the class but then I slowly got into it so I became a lot more confident displaying me and my groups ideas.
I think we covered everything possible in our pitch, but we maybe could have been a bit more detailed with the production schedule and talked more about the dancers' role in the video, apart from that I thought it was great.

Synergy Incorporation
Throughout this project it is essential to incorporate synergy within our artist. Me and my group looked at different artists who had an ongoing theme across all areas of their media. For example, Wretch 32 uses a black and white theme now that he has brought out his new album 'Black and White' and everyone featured in the video for his main single 'Don't go' is dressed in black and white clothing. Disclosure are another example of artists who incorporate synergy, they do this by the frequent featuring of the masks they put over their face, which also appear in their videos.
The use of synergy that we will use across all our media platforms is the logo for Romy's name, which is simply Romy. The reason as to why we used this is because it's simple, easy to remember and is also the artists real name. We are going to incorporate this into all our products to show some consistency within the artist.

Production - How it went.. first day filming
We got to Lukes house at around 13:30 and it went well. First of all I couldn't help but get distracted with Luke's cute dogs! After that we focused on Romy's make-up to achieve the 'natural look' we did takes so that Romy and Luke felt comfortable in front of the camera as well as improve acting (if there was something to improve). We all thought it was best for Romy to sing a long to the song because if she had mimicked it would be noticeable and that wouldn't be professional.
I was taking behind the scene photos and helping Khadeeja with the sound and a few times with the camera. Khadeeja was directing (I would contribute as well) and filming Bad Idea.
Overall I think Romy and Lukes acting was great! They felt very comfortable acting in front of the camera, that is clearly shown.

Planning - Pitch today
In my opinion I think that the pitch my group and I presented to the class was very good overall. My group and I worked very hard, we all contributed to the outcome and we were organised which is what is the key to its success. My group and I were confident, we spoke clearly and loudly. My group and I tried to present as professionally as possible and for me it worked.
At the start I felt quite nervous because I felt I kept on stuttering however I did get my point across and at the end I managed to overcome it.

Planning- Change of costume ideas for Romy, why?
At the beginning we decided to start off with colourless to pale to bright colours to see how her character evolves. Sort of going along with the lyrics. She becomes stronger and more confident in her herself and finally finds another boy. However Romy doesn't have much bright colourful clothes and neither does Khadeeja and when Romy tried on all my colourful clothes it somehow didn't look right, it also depends on the body type and how it fits her. Therefore we changed it up a bit to start off with colourless, to maturing in clothes for e.g. at the end she's wearing a crop top (showing a bit more flesh) so the audience follows her development as a character.

Pitch Tasks
The areas of the pitch that I am covering are the production schedule, other videos that inspired our final ideas and also the storyboard along with Khadeeja.
For the production schedule, I basically had to discuss with my group what we were doing and when we were doing it. This is very important as it gives us guidance and makes our future work very organised so that we aren't panicking about when we should be doing a certain task. It also gives out teachers an idea of how we'll be approaching all the physical work leading up to the video.
I also need to talk about what videos inspired ours. This was more of a task based on my opinion which I feel confident explaining to people as I know what videos clearly inspire ours and why.
Last and not least the storyboard, which pretty much speaks for itself. This is just a still-imaged way of displaying our ideas through the use of drawing and little captions at the bottom in order to establish briefly what is going on and also the shot types used in each frame. This was put together by Khadeeja.

Planning - That Cold Hard Industry
Within the pitch tasks; I was put in charge of researching the industry and finding out about the kinds of tasks actual music video directors and artists would go through in order to make a music video successfully. Here are my findings as part of the pitch
Sunday, 13 October 2013
Planning- Le Concept
I'm (Khadeeja) in charge of the overall depiction of the concept for the music video - and so I thought long and hard about the best way to develop a visual representation of the 'concept'. So doing what I do best, I headed to photoshop to create a graphical representation of the basic idea for the video as part of the pitch;
The Lift Pitch - Quite Literally!
So we had the awesome idea to actually film a proposed lift pitch as part of our music video pitch. I then developed a script for Luke and I to perform. So after shooting and editing the thing, here is the final - literal - lift pitch.
Planning- The Animatic
So we managed to get together the final look of the proposed video. It's a mixture of both still and moving images from different locations (including test shots) but we believe it really goes a long way as to painting an image of what the final thing will look like. So through blood sweat and tears - here is the animated storyboard!
Edited by Khadeeja
Planning- Practice, Practice Practice!
So we've been swamped with our soon approaching pitch - Here's the low down on what we've been doing.

Planning: Pitch Pitch Pitch! Theories and Risks (Part 2)
THEORIES
Our music videos responds to Andrew Goodwin's theory by following the concept of the artist being the narrator and character in the music video.
The artist (Me) is singing about how her boyfriend doesn't treat her right and that she has had enough and is going to move on. This is displayed through the facial expressions i will be pulling and it will also be conveyed through the lyrics.
AlunaGeorge "Bad Idea" lyrics:
The lyrics talk about how the boyfriend is going nowhere maybe with his career or in our interpretation with the relationship. He doesn't put enough effort in or pay much attention to the artist.
I think the artist being the narrator and the character appeals to the audience because it can help them relate to the lyrics and the situation that the song is talking about. They can all relate to having a lousy relationship in the past etc.
RISK ASSESSMENT:
This is probably one of the most important parts of the pitch because its all about the safety of the group and the well being of the equipment that we are going to use.
In order to minimize risks such as damage to equipment of damage to the anyone in the group we are going to make sure that whenever we aren't using the equipment it will be safely put away in its case to help prevent scratches or marks or dents being put into them. For the safety of the group, we are making sure that we film in areas that are used often, so that we don't get lost of injured from things. To stop any of us getting lost we are going to plan our journeys ahead so that we know how to get there and back safely.
The possibly dangers we could face whilst filming are
- equipment being stolen
- people trying to get the equipment off of us
- being in places that are secure (derelict buildings etc)
- being somewhere late at night
- getting lost

You, you, you
Pardon me, would you listen, please?
I'll keep this easy now, keep this fine
I’m gonna have to let you go
cause you've been dragging like jedward
You didn't shut it when you do should
And baby it’s a bad show
I’m gonna have to cut you loose
cause your whining is no use
It’s time to let it show,
I’m gonna have to let you go
I know you get your kicks from your messy life
Don’t follow me with your buss and stride
Your a car crash waiting to happen
I’m putting on the breaks just to save myself
You’re a bad idea that’s gone out of fashion
I’m not even gonna put you at the back of the shelf
Do ba-do do do ba-do
Keep giving me a new excuse
Do ba-do do do ba-do
I'll start giving you real abuse
Just wanna be polite,
Don’t wanna start a fight
So I’m gonna say this right first time
Baby you're bringing me down,
Pressing my buttons with your a big frown
The Situation is over,
Don't look over your shoulder
I know you get your kicks from your messy life
Don’t follow me with your fuss and stride

Planning: Pitch Pitch Pitch! Song Choice and Costume Decisions (Part 1)
For our pitch as a group i have been assigned to pitch the song choice, costume decisions, Andrew Goodwin's theory and the risk assessment.
SONG CHOICE:
Me, Khadeeja and Luke all had song ideas so in order to come to an immediate conclusion we listened to each song suggestion taking into consideration how we could make the video look good, what shots we could use, what colors etc.
The song choices were:
Luke - "Inside Each Other" by Delilah (remix)
Khadeeja - "Bad Idea" by AlunaGeorge
Me - "Only You" by Delilah
After listening to all three songs we discussed how we could interpret the music into a video, we also paid attention to the lyrics and how they could be shown in the video. Unfortunately Luke's song was the first to be knocked off the list because we all felt like it was too of an intense song plus the lyrics were slightly provocative which would of been difficult to portray in a video meant for a target audience of teenagers and young adults (some might of found the video too provocative so we had to make sure our final song choice was suitable for everyone in the target audience).
We then listened to the songs a second time round, again taking into consideration the settings, mise-en-scene and costume etc.
We couldn't come to a decision so we decided to get one of the teachers involved because we felt like an unbiased opinion would help us choose the right song.

and then we FINALLY came to the decision that "Bad Idea" by AlunaGeorge would be our song!
We thought it was a good choice because it was upbeat, current and it had a very urban feel to it. The beat was also catchy and easy to dance to (because we are including dancing in our video).
COSTUME:
On Wednesday (9th October) we all came in with costume ideas:
We have chosen 2 outfits for me - an outfit for the first living room scene and an outfit for the second street scene.
We have also chosen 2 outfits for Luke so far.
More work on outfits and makeup will happen tomorrow (Friday 11th October)
