Evaluation Question 1

In what ways does your media products use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products? Get rid of the youtube videos (or split them into smaller sections)

Here are some examples of following conventions that appeared in my music video:

Evaluation Question 2

How effective is the combination of your main product (video) and ancillary texts (digipak and advertisement)?

here are some shots of the music video to help visualise the music video and to show how it relates to what the people in my video were saying about how the ancillary work links up with it:

Evaluation Question 3

How did you use media technologies in the construction and research, planning and evaluation stages?

Using the blog (part 1)
Using the blog (part 2)
I also recorded videos and posted them onto the blog so that i didn't use too much of the same thing (e.g prezi or go animate)

Here's how i used photoshop when edited and creating my ancillary work:

Here's how i used final cut pro to edit the music video together:

It's All Over :'(

Ramble:

NOOOO everythings finished which means no more  blogging and no more group 21 :(

i've been so lucky this year and last year as i've been in such amazing groups with some really hard working people.

Last year i was with khadeeja and taija and since it was the first year at college i was shy and needed to come out of my shell and being around khadeeja and taija really brought me out of that shell :)

This year i was worried about being in a new class with people i potentially didn't know however when i realised that Khadeeja was in my class again i relaxed a bit because at least i knew somebody!
Then when it came to choosing who we wanted in my group i was desperate to have Khadeeja in my group again because of how well we had worked the year before. Once we were in our groups i got to know Andreia who is honestly one of the nicest girls i have ever met, so friendly and beautiful and kind! and i also got to know luke who is again such a nice guy with a great sense of humour (since i did take the micky out of him sometimes!) he was the only guy in the group aswell so he had a alot of female company but he didn't seem to mind.
we all got along really well i feel like ive made some real friends.
i loved making the video with those guys because we all worked really hard to make the best music video possibly and it was nice to be surrounded by such motivated people aswell.

I'm sad that i will no longer be working with them however i really hope we all stay in touch!

We will always been group 21 in our hearts ;)

this is the last blog post i will be doing which is also very sad :'(

it's been hard, cold and stressful but i've loved every minute of it and working with Khadeeja, Andreia and Luke have made the experience even better!

Production - Making The Advertisement (Update 2)

This is my advertisement so far, it's almost finished but there are a few things i need to correct beforehand.

I am trying to add a shadow behind the digipak front cover that i have pasted onto the poster, this is because i want the digipak front cover to stand out considering that the poster is based around the release of the artists new album.

I found it difficult to get he colours right because i wanted to originally use all white font however i soon realised that that wouldn't work because the light at the top of the poster made the artist name and album title difficult to see. I then tried all black font however i noticed that the dark colours at the bottom of the poster made the black font difficult to see so in the end i decided to use black and white font combined.

Production - Making The Advertisement (Update 1)

so tomorrow (the 10th) is the deadline for my digipak and advertisement. I am sure i will get it done in time as i am pretty happy with my digipak so i don't think i will be making any extreme changes on it, however i am yet to finish my advertisement! But i have been doing it since Wednesday (the 8th) and this is how it is looking since wednesday:

even though the layout, text etc looks the same i have been playing around with the colour's as i don't want them to be too bright however i don't want them to be dull either. I need to find a good balance between the colour of the poster and the colour of the text because at the moment my text is white and i am having slight difficulties trying to make it easy to see against the lighter part of the background that it has been placed on. Today i am going to see if i can re arrange the text in anyway so that its easy to see but also in a good position (e.g i don't want the artist name and the album title to be too close to the bottom of the page otherwise it might not catch the eye as easily because it won't be in direct eye line vision.

Digipak Update

this is an updated version of my digipak

this is the inside of the digipak so far, its improved a lot since the last digipak update. I have changed the whole idea and i realise that not my drawn up template looks nothing like my digipak that i am now creating on photoshop
I've stuck to a blue theme, so that the colours dont get too confusing and so that they dont clash. I tried to keep the inside simple but i also wanted to keep it linked to the outside of the digipak.

DEADLINES...

just a little video about my thoughts on the deadline for the digipak....

Production - My Digipak So Far (Quick Update Thingy)

Not much has changed since the last digpak update that i made, however i have changed the font of the album title and the track list because i needed to stick to two fonts at the most but i was trying to use three fonts because i liked how the track list looked in the font 'mix tape'. However i was finding it difficult to match another font up to the synergy font and the mix tape font so in the end i settled for just two fonts:

(screenshot of blog about fonts)

This is my digipak so far. the track list needs to be arranged in a neater way and i need to add the copyright information onto the back of the digipak however i feel like so far my digipak is looking decent and i hope to only make improvements on it (obviously).

Laters.

Changing The Font...

sooo after some searching through many different types of fonts, i finally decided that instead of using two different fonts plus the synergy font, i decided to use the font:

Noteworthy:

i feel like the font Noteworthy matches up with the synergy font alot nicer then the font 'mix tape' which originally s a group we decided to al use that font type.

it's a a lot better to stick to two fonts at the most. anymore fonts can get confusing and can end up making the whole digipak look messy and a bit unorganised.

Digipak Template (Excuse The Bad Drawing)

this is the front cover of my digipak
this is a close up of the front of the digipak cd cover, im not sure if im going to use this image for the front cover however because im not looking into the camera so there is a lack of connection with the artist and the audience.

this is a close up of the back of my digipak. The back image is from a different

this is the inside of my digipak.

i will be putting the tracklist and how long they all are on this panel.
